Vienna will host a multi-day “Turkish Week” program aimed at bringing the cultural heritage of the Turkic world and its role in global interaction to the forefront, as announced by Anadolu Agency. The event will be organized by the Organization of Turkic States, an intergovernmental body that brings together countries sharing Turkic linguistic, historical, and cultural ties.

A cultural showcase at the United Nations Vienna Office

The program will run from Jan. 12 to 15 in Austria’s capital and will open at the United Nations Vienna Office with a photography exhibition titled “The Turkic World.” The exhibition, prepared jointly by the Organization of Turkic States and the Turkic Academy, is expected to put a spotlight on the shared history, cultural heritage, and global interconnectedness of Turkic societies.

Organizers have indicated that the exhibition is designed to help international audiences better understand how the Turkic world has historically interacted with wider global networks.

Strategic dialogue on trade routes and connectivity

Building on this cultural focus, Turkish Week will also feature a high-level roundtable meeting at the historic Hofburg Palace. Held under the theme “From the Silk Road to the Middle Corridor: Promoting Connectivity through Transport and Trade Facilitation,” the meeting will bring together senior officials, experts, and representatives of international organizations.

Discussions are set to center on transportation, trade facilitation, and the strategic importance of East–West connectivity, concepts that refer to modern logistics and trade routes linking Asia and Europe.

Engaging diaspora communities and artistic expression

Alongside policy and culture, the program will branch out to community engagement through a Diaspora Capacity Building Training Program. This initiative is aimed at strengthening skills and cooperation among Turkic diaspora communities living abroad.

To round out the week, a concert featuring Turkish artists will take place, offering an artistic reflection of the cultural richness and diversity of the Turkic world.
