The Türkiye Youth Philharmonic Orchestra (TUGFO) marked its 20th anniversary with a concert in Istanbul, celebrating two decades since its founding.
The orchestra operates under the Sevda-Cenap And Music Foundation, with the Sabanci Foundation as its main supporter and Ronesans Saglik Yatirim leading its activities.
The anniversary concert was held at the Lutfi Kirdar Congress and Exhibition Center in Istanbul.
Conductor Cem Mansur led the orchestra, joined by pianist Ozgur Unaldi as soloist.
The program featured young composer Emre Sener's "Je Ne Sais Quoi," alongside works by Engelbert Humperdinck, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Maurice Ravel and Paul Dukas.
Selections included Humperdinck's "Hansel and Gretel" overture, Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1, Ravel's "Mother Goose," and Dukas's "The Sorcerer's Apprentice."
Held under the theme "The Magic of Music," the concert completed the domestic leg of the orchestra's 20th anniversary tour.
TUGFO will continue with a European tour, performing six concerts across Germany and Romania in August. Unaldi will again accompany the orchestra as soloist for the European leg.
