GO Türkiye has rolled out its latest mini-series, “Whispers of Origins,” bringing together mystery, cultural heritage and gastronomy in a cinematic journey across southeastern Türkiye.

Produced by the Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency, known as TGA, the series stars Engin Altan Duzyatan and Ozge Gurel and is now available on digital platforms.

Filmed across Adiyaman, Gaziantep, Sanliurfa, Mardin and Diyarbakir, the production sets out to introduce the region’s historical landmarks, local cuisine and cultural legacy to international audiences through the story of two characters drawn into a mystery.

Ancient landmarks become part of the story

Rather than presenting the region through a conventional travel format, “Whispers of Origins” builds its narrative around some of southeastern Türkiye’s best-known destinations.

The series features Mount Nemrut, home to monumental statues from the ancient Kingdom of Commagene, as well as Gobeklitepe, a prehistoric archaeological site near Sanliurfa.

Other locations include Balikligol, Mardin’s historic streets and monasteries, the Great Mosque of Diyarbakir, Hasanpasa Han and the UNESCO-listed Hevsel Gardens.

According to TGA, the production aims to bring out the region’s mystical atmosphere through a cinematic visual style while weaving its cultural and gastronomic identity into the central plot.

Creative team brings together mystery and destination promotion

The original story was developed by Emre Gurcan and Hakan Yonat, who also produced the mini-series.

The screenplay was written by Gurcan, Yonat and Nazli Bora, while Yonat directed the production.

By placing two fictional characters at the center of a mystery-led journey, the series uses storytelling to show off Türkiye’s destinations rather than relying solely on promotional footage.

GO Türkiye series build up global digital reach

“Whispers of Origins” follows six previous productions released under the GO Türkiye Mini Series project: “Istanbul My Love,” “Antalya Gambit,” “Hidden Lover,” “An Istanbul Story,” “Cappadocia Fairytale” and “Turquoise Summer.”

TGA said the earlier mini-series collectively generated 8.2 billion impressions and 4.8 billion views across international digital platforms.

Through the project, Türkiye’s cities, cuisine, cultural heritage and natural landscapes are presented to global viewers through short-form fictional productions.

TGA is also planning new mini-series centered on the eastern Black Sea region and Ankara.
