Türkiye's retail sales up 9.2% in March amid economic crisis

Türkiye's retail sales surged 9.2% year-on-year in March, according to the national statistics agency TurkStat on Monday. The volume of trade sales grew 10.8% annually in the same month, while wholesale trade sales climbed 11.1%.

Sales of food, beverages, and tobacco rose 8%, non-food items saw a 10.6% boost, and automotive fuel sales increased by 4.1%.

Sales via mail orders and the internet also increased 3% year on year.

On a monthly basis, retail sales contracted by 1.4%, trade sales and wholesale sales were up 5% and 8.1%, respectively.
