Thirty-nine illegally kept exotic reptiles were seized from a residential property in Istanbul by the General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks.
Following their rescue on June 16, 2026, the confiscated wildlife cohort was transferred to the state-of-the-art Gaziantep Natural Life Park in southeastern Türkiye for specialized care.
Wildlife handlers routinely conduct thorough biological assessments when processing confiscated exotic reptiles.
The diverse shipment of recovered animals also included distinct royal pythons, corn snakes, black snakes, and multiple small lizards.
Upon arrival, veterinary staff at the park's dedicated animal hospital subjected each individual reptile to comprehensive diagnostic health checks.
Following their successful medical clearance, the pythons and monitors were transitioned into secure quarantine zones to acclimate.
The animals have now been permanently placed under strict legal protection inside optimized, species-appropriate habitats designed to replicate their natural environments.
