With summer starting in Bodrum, a Mugla district known for its turquoise coves and natural beauty, daily boat tours are attracting more visitors from around the world.

Every day, hundreds of tourists join boat tours to explore the hidden inlets that have made this Aegean resort popular with travelers worldwide. Industry experts say demand is rising faster than in past years, and they expect even more bookings as summer continues.

Bodrum has about 500 boats offering daily tours, and with rental boats, the total number is close to 2,000. Tourists come from Russia, Arab countries, India, China, Europe, and the Americas, underscoring Bodrum's growing status as a global destination.

Enver Kantarmis, who leads the Bodrum Regional Board of the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TURSAB), said activity increased during the Eid al-Adha holiday.

He explained that the sector aims to outperform last year, highlighting Bodrum’s natural coves, yacht culture, and a range of accommodation options as its main attractions.

Kantarmis also noted that conflicts elsewhere in the world have not reduced interest in Türkiye, and new flight routes, especially for Russian travelers, have helped the industry.

Kantarmis expects July to be the busiest month of the season. He also pointed out that Bodrum attracts not just people looking for nightlife and entertainment but also families with children.

Hidden coves, loyal visitors

Vahap Ozkan, who leads the Bodrum Kumbahce Boatmen's Cooperative, said bookings are coming in steadily.

He explained that domestic tourist numbers are still lower than expected, partly because schools closed later this year, but he expects more visitors once the summer holidays are fully underway.

Day-tour guests visit several coves, such as Akvaryum, Karaada, Kizilburun, Tavsanburnu, Orak, Poyraz, and Dalgic.

Each spot has calm waters for swimming and snorkeling, and operators say the variety keeps visitors coming back.

Visitors who keep coming back

Many international visitors return to Bodrum’s tour boats year after year. Russian tourist Elena Remiga, now on her fourth visit, said Bodrum’s coves and scenery make it special and she recommends the experience to others.

Another Russian visitor, Vitali Pogoreltsev, also a repeat guest, called Bodrum one of the world’s most beautiful holiday spots, praising its sunny weather, natural beauty, and friendly people.

These stories show a common trend: most people on Bodrum’s blue voyage tours have visited before. Operators say many guests return for the clear water and the peaceful, hidden coves.

Sector eyes strong summer

With the busiest part of the season still to come, industry leaders are confident that 2025 will be even better than previous years.

They believe new flight routes, steady international interest, and Bodrum’s reputation for welcoming all types of travelers—luxury tourists, backpackers, families, and cruise passengers—will help make this a record summer.

Boat tour reservations keep coming in, and operators say many boats are already filling up for July and August.
