The sudden death of Presley Gerber, the 27-year-old son of supermodel Cindy Crawford, is being investigated as a suspected overdose, according to reports citing records from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.
Gerber died on Sunday at a rehabilitation facility, although authorities have not yet determined the official cause of death.
Police said there were no indications of homicide or other suspicious circumstances.
Allie Jenkins, a representative for Crawford and her husband, Rande Gerber, told CBS News, the BBC's U.S. partner, that the family was asking for privacy during what she described as a very difficult and painful period.
Like his mother and younger sister Kaia Gerber, Presley Gerber worked as a model, making his runway debut for Italian fashion house Moschino when he was 16. He later modeled for brands including Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, and Bottega Veneta.
In recent years, Gerber had also spoken openly about mental health struggles and substance use. During a 2023 appearance on the Studio 22 podcast, he reflected on his own experiences and said helping others through similar difficulties had become important to him.
In this month's American Vogue, Kaia Gerber also spoke about her brother's struggle with addiction and how it affected the family.
The official cause of Presley Gerber's death has not yet been established.
