The company “Glint” has come under fire after promoting a product it claimed could be safely consumed. Social media influencers were filmed ingesting the substance during marketing videos, sending a misleading message about its safety.
Advertisements emphasized that the product was “100% natural, organic, and free of chemicals”. The company also suggested it could be safely applied to pets’ paws and would not harm people with asthma. The most striking element of the campaign was the footage showing the brand owner and influencers drinking the product on camera to demonstrate it was harmless.
The videos quickly went viral, drawing widespread criticism from viewers who warned that such claims could be dangerously deceptive.
A report from the Ministry of Trade has since debunked the company’s statements. Investigators found no evidence that the product is safe for consumption or free from chemicals. According to the report, items marketed as “natural and harmless” actually contain hazardous chemical ingredients.
Health experts warn that the greatest danger lies in consumers trusting the false safety messages and using the product themselves. The sale of chemical-heavy products labeled as “organic” poses a serious public health risk, particularly because some of these items are available in major retail chains.
Authorities emphasize that cleaning agents or detergents should never be ingested. Labels claiming “natural” or “plant-based” do not make them safe for humans. Consumers are urged to rely solely on official regulatory assessments rather than social media promotions.
