The Turkish State Meteorological Service (MGM) issued several weather alerts for April 14.

Experts expect temperatures to rise significantly across most of Türkiye today. However, specific regions face immediate threats from agricultural frost, dust transport, and avalanches.

MGM warns agricultural producers about potential crop damage due to dropping temperatures in specific areas.

Internal parts of Central Anatolia and the Black Sea region face light frost, as Eastern Anatolia faces "moderate and strong" agricultural frost risks.

Officials stated that "producers, farmers, and citizens should remain careful and cautious" against these conditions to prevent loss.

Meteorologists expect dust transport to impact western provinces throughout the day. This phenomenon primarily affects the Marmara and Aegean regions.

Citizens in major hubs like Istanbul and Izmir should prepare for potential air quality changes and reduced visibility.

  • Marmara and Aegean: Dust transport will persist. Istanbul reaches 17 degrees Celsius (62.6 degrees Fahrenheit) while Izmir hits 23 degrees Celsius
  • Eastern Türkiye: High snow cover on slopes creates avalanche and snowmelt risks in the Eastern Black Sea and Eastern Anatolia
  • Northern Regions: Parts of the Eastern Black Sea, Ordu, and Siirt expect rain
  • Central Anatolia: Ankara anticipates partly cloudy weather with temperatures reaching 17 degrees
  • Coldest Points: Erzurum remains cold at minus 4 degrees with expected snowfall during the afternoon

The weather agency also predicts light winds from the south and west. Eastern Thrace may experience northerly winds. Authorities urge residents in mountainous regions to stay alert for sudden snowmelt as temperatures climb.
