Turkish flavors shine in Bangkok at Turkish Cuisine Week reception

Turkish culinary heritage took center stage in Bangkok as Turkish Cuisine Week was marked with a high-profile reception showcasing Türkiye’s signature flavors to diplomats, officials and international guests.

Organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Bangkok, the event served as a platform to introduce traditional Turkish cuisine to a diverse audience, including senior Thai officials, members of the diplomatic community, representatives of international media, and figures from business and social circles.

The program opened with a video message from first lady Emine Erdogan, delivered in the context of Turkish Cuisine Week celebrations. The message highlighted the importance of preserving and promoting Türkiye’s culinary heritage as a reflection of cultural identity.

Following the screening, Türkiye Ambassador to Bangkok Julide Kayihan addressed attendees, emphasizing that Turkish cuisine represents a deep-rooted cultural tradition shaped by centuries of history and regional diversity.

She noted that the embassy continues to actively promote Türkiye’s gastronomic heritage through cultural diplomacy initiatives abroad.

The reception featured a curated menu of traditional dishes, including su boregi, lamb shank, stuffed vine leaves (yaprak sarma), carrot mezesi, sekerpare and baklava.

Guests express strong interest in Turkish culinary

Among the attendees, Miss Thailand 2026, Ruchathorn Kittiponnpanich, shared her impressions of the event, stating that it was her first opportunity to experience Turkish cuisine despite previous exposure to Turkish cultural productions.

She expressed particular appreciation for the variety of flavors and presentation of the dishes.
