Türkiye has stepped up preparations for the International Space Congress, one of the world’s largest global gatherings in the space sector, which will take place in Antalya in October 2026, according to the country’s Industry and Technology Ministry.
Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacir said coordination efforts are moving forward as the country prepares to host scientists, students, entrepreneurs, space companies, and national space agencies from around the world.
The International Space Congress will be held from Oct. 5 to 9, 2026, in Antalya, a major tourism and conference hub on Türkiye’s Mediterranean coast.
Kacir said the event will serve as a key international meeting point for the global space community, bringing together a wide range of participants involved in space science, research, technology development, and commercial activities.
In a statement shared on the social media platform X, the minister said Türkiye continues preparations at full pace for what he described as the world’s largest space-related event.
The congress is expected to host representatives from numerous national space agencies, alongside private sector companies, startups, academic institutions, and students working in space-related fields.
Officials see the congress as both a scientific and diplomatic platform, allowing countries to exchange ideas on space exploration while strengthening international cooperation.
Kacir said the congress will also serve as a showcase for Türkiye’s National Space Program and the country’s growing ambitions in space science and technology.
He confirmed that a steering committee meeting for the congress was recently held at the ministry with representatives from relevant institutions and stakeholders involved in the preparations.
“We held the Congress Steering Committee Meeting at our ministry with the participation of representatives from stakeholder institutions,” Kacir said.
He added that Türkiye aims to deliver an event that reflects the country’s space vision and international standing.
“We will host an event worthy of our country, one that announces Türkiye’s rise in space science and technologies to the world through the National Space Program implemented under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and ensures that space studies serve the common future of humanity,” he said.
The International Space Congress is expected to place Türkiye at the center of global discussions on space policy, innovation, and collaboration as the country seeks to expand its role in the international space ecosystem.
