A wildfire that broke out in Aydos Forest in Istanbul’s Pendik district was brought under control Saturday following extensive ground and aerial firefighting efforts.

The blaze, which began for unknown reasons along a forest road, prompted an immediate response from local fire brigades. Reinforcements, including aerial support, were dispatched from surrounding districts. A firefighting helicopter sent from Sariyer assisted in the operation.

Footage captured from the air showed flames burning in several areas of the forest and teams working in coordination to contain the fire.

Authorities confirmed that the fire was brought under control, and cooling operations are still ongoing to prevent possible reignition.
