Türkiye's planned rail connection between Ankara's High-Speed Train Station and Esenboga Airport will stretch 36 kilometers and include 12 stations, Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloglu announced.
Uraloglu said preparations for the YHT Gar-Esenboga Airport Rail System Line are moving ahead, with site handovers completed across all three sections of the project. YHT refers to Türkiye's high-speed train network.
Mobilization and construction-site setup are currently underway, while the line is being designed for speeds of up to 120 kilometers (74.56 miles) per hour.
The project will be divided into three sections, each with four stations.
The 8.5-kilometer YHT Gar-Siteler section will include four stations, followed by the 12-kilometer Siteler-Pursaklar section with another four. The final 15.5-kilometer Pursaklar-Esenboga section will also contain four stations.
Uraloglu said a depot, workshop and parking area will additionally be built as part of the Pursaklar-Esenboga section.
