Aselsan General Manager Ahmet Akyol outlined the company's expanding portfolio of naval defense, air defense and anti-drone systems during an interview with Defensa magazine on Thursday, highlighting growing engagement with Latin American armed forces.

"Aselsan has continued to achieve important technological and industrial advances in Latin America. We have actively participated in important regional defense events, such as Expodefensa in Colombia, which continues to strengthen our visibility and commitment throughout the continent," Akyol said.

Hisar air defense family offers three configurations

Akyol detailed the Hisar air defense system family, a key component of Türkiye's multilayered Steel Dome architecture.

"The Hisar system is a family of fully modular and flexible air defense solutions developed by Aselsan to provide effective protection at low and medium altitudes," Akyol said.

"It is built with an open architecture approach, allowing it to easily adapt to different operational concepts, geographical environments, and command and control infrastructures of different user countries," he added.

The family comprises three main configurations. Hisar-A All-in-One integrates all essential sensors and subsystems—including 3D radar, electro-optical/infrared sensors, IFF, and a command and control unit—in a single vehicle, providing a 15-kilometer effective range and a 10-kilometer engagement altitude with 360-degree coverage.

The Hisar-A Missile Launch System offers a cost-effective, low-altitude solution designed to work with existing command-and-control infrastructure, featuring the same range and altitude capabilities with a higher number of ready-to-fire missiles.

Hisar-O Medium Altitude is designed for the protection of regions, military bases and critical infrastructure with a 40-kilometer (24.8-mile) range and 15-kilometer (9.32-mile) engagement altitude, incorporating a Fire Control Center, multiple launchers, dedicated radar, and missile resupply units.

Goksur naval defense achieves 'first live intercept'

Akyol confirmed that the Goksur naval air defense system completed its first live intercept, successfully engaging a sea-skimming target at more than 11 kilometers.

"The missile's imaging infrared seeker ensured a precise terminal attack, while mid-course guidance was maintained through Aselsan's Gudu data link before the missile switched to autonomous guidance for the final attack," Akyol stated.

The test utilized the Goksur 100-N VLS configuration, Aselsan's modular vertical launch system. The Goksur family also includes the Goksur 100-N variant carrying 20 IIR-guided missiles adapted from air-to-air missions for naval use and the Goksur 100-N StA autonomous turret-based configuration that integrates sensors, fire control, and launch capability in a single stabilized turret.

"Together, the Goksur configurations provide navies with a modular, scalable and fully indigenous set of air defense and anti-missile solutions adapted to different operational needs at sea," Akyol noted.

Zoka anti-torpedo systems deployed across multiple regions

Akyol said Aselsan's Zoka anti-torpedo defense systems are available in both surface-launch (ZOKA SED) and submarine-launch (ZOKA 100-S/ED) versions.

"The surface-launch version, Zoka SED, has been successfully deployed in several countries in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. It has also been offered to other nations in these regions, where discussions and evaluation processes are ongoing," Akyol said.

"The ZOKA 100-S/ED, launched from submarines, has been delivered to selected navies in Asia and surrounding regions and has been offered to other countries in these areas, with contracts currently under consideration," he added.

Korkut 100/25 SB and Ejderha lead anti-drone portfolio

Aselsan recently presented the Korkut 100/25 SB anti-drone system in Europe as part of its expanding counter-UAV portfolio.

"The Korkut 100/25 SB is a mobile short-range anti-drone system that combines soft kill and hard kill capabilities in a single platform. It is designed to neutralize fast and highly maneuverable drones, both in stationary missions and on the move," Akyol said.

The system uses Aselsan's 25mm ATOM airburst munition with integrated radar, electro-optical sensors and AI-assisted target tracking software.

For soft kill capabilities, Aselsan offers the Ejderha AD 200 high-power electromagnetic system.

"While traditional jamming focuses on disrupting radio frequencies, Ejderha goes further by emitting narrowband electromagnetic pulses that physically degrade or destroy the electronic subsystems of mini-drones and micro-drones," he added.

Additional systems include Ihtar 100 for rapid detection, automatic tracking and directional jamming of multiple UAVs, and Kangal FPV targeting control links, GPS signals, and telemetry channels.

Smart fuze solutions for 155mm artillery

Aselsan General Manager also highlighted Aselsan's contributions to artillery effectiveness through smart fuze technologies rather than projectile production.

"Two key products in this segment are the ASAF 155 CCF and the ASAF 155 MOFA," he started.

The ASAF 155 CCF is an inductively programmable course correction fuze designed to reduce projectile dispersion and improve first-round hit probability by measuring muzzle velocity and deploying air brakes at calculated moments.

The ASAF 155 MOFA is an inductively programmable multi-option electronic fuze compatible with all 155 mm projectiles, featuring proximity, impact detonation and time programming modes while meeting Joint Ballistics Memorandum of Understanding (JBMOU) standards.

"Together, ASAF 155 CCF and ASAF 155 MOFA demonstrate our commitment to developing cost-effective smart artillery solutions that reinforce precision, improve operational efficiency, and reduce the overall logistical burden of modern armed forces," Akyol concluded.
