DeltaV's two-stage hybrid rocket system achieved a new altitude record by exceeding 200 kilometers (124.27 miles) during testing, marking a significant milestone for Türkiye's National Space Program and advancing the country's independent space access capabilities.

Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacir praised the accomplishment, stating that "DeltaV Space, which developed the hybrid rocket motor for our Moon Mission, has achieved another historic success."

Presidency of Defense Industries head Haluk Gorgun emphasized the broader significance of the achievement in social media posts, describing it as more than a technical milestone.

"The altitude reached by DeltaV's domestic and national hybrid rocket system is not just a technical threshold, but an open declaration of a vision born from these lands, a belief transformed into an independent space walk," Gorgun stated.

Record-breaking test achieves multiple objectives

The Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) confirmed through social media that the two-stage hybrid rocket system developed by DeltaV reached an altitude exceeding 200 kilometers, setting a new record for hybrid rocket motors.

According to SSB statements, the test successfully accomplished numerous challenging objectives beyond the altitude achievement.

"This success represents a pioneering development not only for our country but also globally in terms of hybrid rocket technologies," the defense agency announced.

Hybrid rocket technology offers strategic advantages

Hybrid rockets combine the advantages of liquid and solid fuel systems, providing safer, more cost-effective, and controllable technology compared to traditional rocket systems.

The ability to stop and restart ignition offers critical capabilities, particularly essential for

complex and sensitive missions such as soft lunar landings.

This successful test forms one of the fundamental building blocks for Türkiye's vision of reaching the Moon and developing interplanetary missions and satellite launch systems.

SSB emphasized that the critical system developed will pave the way for more advanced missions in the future, aligned with the National Space Program objectives. The record-breaking test demonstrates the level reached by Türkiye's research and development and production capabilities in space technologies.

DeltaV acknowledges support from defense industries

In its official statement, DeltaV expressed gratitude to stakeholders, particularly SSB, for their support throughout the development process.

DeltaV stated: "We sincerely thank all our stakeholders, especially our Defense Industries Presidency, who have been with us at every step in this process where we develop technologies that will provide independent access to space with domestic and national capabilities."

"This success, while being an important step taken in line with our National Space Program goals, is also a sign of our determination to develop our capabilities in the field of space technologies," the company added.

Government officials praise engineering excellence

Gorgun highlighted the achievement as proof that Türkiye has become one of the pioneering countries developing its own rocket systems.

"With the will and vision put forward by our President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, our National Technology Move continues to advance with determination," Gorgun said.

He congratulated the DeltaV team, engineers, technicians, and scientists involved in the historic success, stating they "not only broke a record but carried this nation's self-confidence, dreams, and faith to space."

"Türkiye now targets not only the sky but the depths of space," Gorgun concluded, emphasizing the country's expanding space ambitions.
