Türkiye supports Syria’s unity: Erdogan tells Sharaa amid Israeli strikes threatening region

Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a phone call with Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa following Israel's latest attacks on Syrian territory, according to a statement from the Directorate of Communications of Türkiye.

'Israeli aggression threatens whole region'

During the call, Erdogan stated that Israel's strikes on Syria are unacceptable and that such aggression poses a threat to the entire region.

He emphasized that Türkiye will continue to stand with the Syrian people, as it has done in the past.

Türkiye welcomes cease-fire

Erdogan also welcomed the cease-fire reached involving the Druze community in Syria. He noted this development was viewed positively by Türkiye.

Sharaa, in return, thanked Erdogan for Türkiye's continued support in preserving Syria's political unity, territorial integrity, and sovereignty.
