Turkish police arrested nine suspects wanted by Interpol as "foreign terrorist fighters" in an operation targeting the Daesh terrorist organization in Istanbul.
The operation, conducted under an investigation by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, targeted 15 suspects identified through intelligence indicating their involvement with Daesh.
The suspects were found to have conducted organizational propaganda on social media and were subjects of Interpol red notices as "foreign terrorist fighters."
Police teams successfully detained nine of the 15 identified suspects during the operation.
Law enforcement efforts continue to locate and apprehend the six remaining fugitive suspects.
The prosecutor's office investigation revealed that the suspects had information forms indicating their participation in the Daesh terrorist organization.
