Bogazici Elektrik Dagitim A.S. (BEDAS) will implement extensive planned electrical maintenance operations across 17 Istanbul districts on Saturday, Sep. 6, 2025, affecting dozens of neighborhoods with power outages lasting between four and eight hours.
The utility company announced through its official website that the comprehensive maintenance program aims to ensure the safe and efficient operation of Istanbul's electrical grid through planned maintenance, repair and investment work. The outages will begin as early as 7 a.m. in some areas and extend until 6 p.m. in others, with varying durations depending on the scope of work required in each location.
In Arnavutkoy district, the Islambey neighborhood will experience a seven-hour power outage from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., affecting residents along Islambey neighborhood and surrounding streets. The maintenance work is classified as a maintenance program operation by BEDAS.
Avcilar district will see more extensive disruptions, with multiple neighborhoods affected throughout the day. The areas of Denizkoskler, Ahmet Kaya, Akkoyun, Asma, Denizkoskler, Derya, Fikret, Filiz, Koru Cikmazi, Mehtap, Muhtar Kazim Akgul, Panter, Salkim, Yakamoz, Yosun and Istek streets will lose power from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., representing an eight-hour maintenance window.
Bagcilar district residents will experience multiple outage periods. The Fevzi Cakmak neighborhood, including streets numbered 2042, 2043, 2044 and Sancaktepe area at number 966, along with Fatih Street and surrounding areas, will face power interruptions from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. A separate outage in the same district will affect the Inonu neighborhood on 360th Street from noon to 4 p.m.
Bahcelievler district will experience two separate maintenance windows. The first affects neighborhoods around Bahcelievler, Demet, Duzgun and Ferit Selimpasa streets from 8 a.m. to noon. The second outage targets the Cumhuriyet neighborhood, specifically Meltem, Celik Hancer 7 and Celik Hancer 8 streets, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Additionally, the Sogranli neighborhood along Kocatepe Street will lose power from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Bayrampasa district faces one of the most extensive outages, affecting the Muratpasa neighborhood from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. The affected areas include Akyol, Ata, Aygun, Bag, Beyaz Gul, Cemiyet, Dokumculer, Farabi, Gulhan, Kamil, Karakol, Melek Hatun, Meram, Merkez, Morlale, Serin, Siraevler, Sofular, Sokullu, Sipahi, Tan, Ugurlu, Cayir, Ozum, Inan, Ipek, Sehzadebasi and Seref streets and surrounding areas.
Eastern and Asian side districts coordinate maintenance schedules
Beylikduzu district will implement maintenance in two phases. The Yakuplu neighborhood, including Akik, Kristal and Safir streets, will experience outages from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. A separate eight-hour maintenance window affects the same neighborhood from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., targeting the Havaalani area, specifically Anadolu Street and Orucreis area, along with Sehit Ali Karahan and Giyimkent 1st Street.
Esenler district maintenance will occur in two time blocks. The morning session from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. affects the Havaalani neighborhood around Anadolu Street, Orucreis area, Sehit Ali Karahan and Giyimkent 1st Street areas.
Esenyurt district faces a morning outage from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Namik Kemal neighborhood, specifically affecting building numbers 115 and 15 on Dogan Arasli Street, as well as Zafer neighborhood building number 115.
Fatih district will experience the most complex maintenance schedule with multiple neighborhoods affected at different times. The morning session from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. targets areas including Hobyar, Yeni Camii Street, Mercan area, Fincancilar, Cakmakcilar Yokusu Street, Rustempasa area, Alaca Hamam, Marpuccular, Saka Mehmet, Vasif Cinar, Yeni Camii Street, Sururi area, Haci Kucuk, Haci Kucuk Camii, Hocahani, Katircioglu, Kefelihan, Macuncu, Macuncu Cikmazi, Mahmutpasa Yokusu, Vasif Cinar and Irfaniye streets and surrounding areas.
A separate afternoon maintenance window in Fatih from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. will affect the Sehremini neighborhood. Additionally, the Tahtakale area, including Sabuncuhani Street, Taya Hatun neighborhood, Mahmutpasa Yokusu and Cakmakcilar Yokusu streets, will experience outages from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Gaziosmanpasa district maintenance targets the Barbaros Hayrettin Pasa neighborhood from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., affecting buildings numbered 1048, 1065, 1066, 1067, 1068, 1072, 1024, 1058, 1062, 1067, 1068, 1069, 1073 on Inonu Street and surrounding areas.
Gungoren district will implement maintenance from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Sanayi neighborhood, affecting Adem Yavuz, Eski Londra Asfalti and Hizir Reis streets and surrounding areas.
Sisli district faces two separate outages. The first affects the Fulya neighborhood along Ali Sami Yen Street from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. A longer outage from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. will impact the Halil Rifat Pasa neighborhood, including Hamam, Nazli, Taskizak and Yuzer Havuz streets and surrounding areas.
Kagithane district faces multiple maintenance windows throughout the day. The Yesilce neighborhood, including Ataturk, Barbaros, Basri, Bagdas, Bagis, Damla, Define, Destek, Degirmen, Donatim, Dogus, Durgun, Duygu, Dirayet, Fizan, Halil Rahman, Hulya, Kagithane Barbaros, Kemaliye, Ruya, Sakarya, Secilmis, Sonmezay, Yunus Emre, Celebihan and Inceyol streets, will lose power from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
A separate outage in Kagithane affects the Hurriyet neighborhood from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., targeting Akgul, Beyder, Ertugrul, Nursema, Zembil Kumesi and Ipek streets. The most extensive Kagithane outage runs from noon to 5 p.m. in the Sultan Selim neighborhood, affecting Bahadir, Battal, Bagis, Bingol, Birdal, Ceyda, Duman, Erdal, Isin, Koc, Sakarya, Sonbahar, Tabip, Tatli, Tasci, Teknik, Tokgoz, Torun, Turan, Uygar, Yonca, Yunus Emre and Sahinler streets, as well as Yesilce neighborhood areas including Ataturk, Bagis, Dadas, Dal, Define, Dekan, Sonbahar, Teknik and Tokgoz streets.
Eyupsultan district will experience maintenance from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Mithatpasa neighborhood, affecting Guleryuz, Davutpasa, Kizilcam, Kurt Kemeri Orman Isletme Sefligi Yolu Street and surrounding areas.
Silivri district will experience a maintenance outage from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Fevzipasa neighborhood, affecting Mezbaha and Hakimbey streets and surrounding areas.
Sultangazi district faces maintenance from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Cebeci neighborhood, affecting buildings numbered 2550, 2552, 2554, 2556 and 5, as well as Canakkale Sehitleri Street and surrounding areas.
Zeytinburnu district will conclude the day's maintenance operations with work from 8 a.m. to noon in the Maltepe neighborhood, specifically targeting Davutpasa Street and surrounding areas.
