A moderate earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale shook the district of Askale in eastern Türkiye’s Erzurum province on Thursday morning.
According to data released by the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), the tremor was recorded at 11:29 a.m. local time, with its epicenter located in Askale, a district situated west of the provincial capital Erzurum.
The agency stated that the quake occurred at a depth of 7 kilometers beneath the Earth’s surface. No further details were provided at the time of reporting.
