A magnitude 5.4 earthquake centered in Sanliurfa's Karakopru district struck at 10:40 a.m. on Thursday and was felt across several provinces in southeastern Türkiye, according to the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD).
The tremor was felt in Sanliurfa, Adiyaman, Malatya, Diyarbakir and Gaziantep, while strong shaking was also reported in Diyarbakir.
AFAD said there had been no negative developments reported as of its latest update following the magnitude 5.4 earthquake.
"Following the magnitude 5.4 earthquake that occurred at 10:40 a.m. in the Karakopru district of Sanliurfa and was felt in Sanliurfa, Adiyaman, Malatya, Diyarbakir and Gaziantep, there is currently no adverse situation," the agency said.
AFAD added that field assessment operations were continuing in the affected areas.
Kandilli Observatory separately measured the earthquake at magnitude 5.8.
