Suspicious death at Galata Tower as investigation launched into fatal fall

A woman died after falling from the historic Galata Tower in Istanbul's Beyoglu district. Her lifeless body was transported to the Forensic Medicine Institute morgue as authorities launched an investigation into the incident.

Incident occurred in the afternoon

At approximately 2:30 p.m. on Friday, a woman in her 30s, identified as E.S., fell from the Galata Tower. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Following emergency calls from citizens who witnessed the distressing event, police and medical teams were immediately dispatched to the area.

Pronounced dead at the scene

Upon arrival, medical teams conducted checks and determined that the woman had passed away at the scene.

Police teams established a security perimeter around the area while crime scene investigation units conducted a thorough examination. Following the initial procedures, the woman's body was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute morgue.

A comprehensive investigation into the suspicious death is currently underway.
