Türkiye's ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) Deputy Chairman and party spokesman Omer Celik sharply criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday, saying his government attacks President Recep Tayyip Erdogan whenever it is "cornered" in Israeli domestic politics, after Netanyahu's Likud party used a photo of Erdogan in an election campaign poster.

"This network hostile to humanity attacks our president whenever it finds itself cornered in Israel's domestic politics," Celik said in a post on X.

"The reason for this is that our president holds the most resolute stance of the 'alliance of humanity' against this network of massacre," he added.

'Netanyahu's government a genocide network'

The Turkish official said Netanyahu's "genocide network" represents nothing for the entire region but more chaos and massacre.

"This network hostile to humanity attacks our president whenever it finds itself cornered in Israel's domestic politics. The reason for this is that our president holds the most resolute stance of the 'alliance of humanity' against this network of massacre," he wrote.

"The voice our president has raised on behalf of all humanity condemns this genocide network in the name of 'humane values.' It is essential, for the sake of all humane values, that the day comes when this massacre network will be held accountable before the law," Celik said.

"Netanyahu's network's genocide in Gaza, its actions to 'Gazafy' the West Bank, its attack on the Iranian people, its occupation of certain parts of Lebanon, and its harassment of Syria are all parts of the same fanaticism agenda," Celik added.

He noted that the network's recent actions in Syria show once more that Israeli policies remain the greatest enemy of peace and stability for the region's peoples. "Whenever the [Ahmad al-]Sharaa government takes prudent steps to secure Syria's internal cohesion, Israel immediately attacks the internal peace of the Syrian people," he said.

The Turkish official urged global unity against the administration, stating, "The entire international community must respond to this together. Standing against Netanyahu's network is defending the dignity of all humanity."

The Likud poster

Celik's remarks came after Netanyahu's Likud party used a photo of President Erdogan in a campaign billboard displayed in Tel Aviv. The poster featured Erdogan alongside Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem, and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani.

The text on the advertisement read: "They want Netanyahu to lose. Don't let them win."

The display emerged as election campaigning intensifies ahead of Israel's Oct. 27 vote. Political analysts have noted a growing number of statements from Israeli politicians targeting Türkiye and Erdogan in the run-up to the election.
