Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz met with the United States Ambassador to Ankara, Tom Barrack, at the Presidential Complex on Thursday to discuss critical bilateral and regional issues.
In a statement following the meeting, Yilmaz highlighted that they evaluated steps to strengthen bilateral relations and deepen cooperation in concrete areas, with a particular focus on economic and trade ties.
Yilmaz provided details regarding the agenda of the high-level meeting, noting that long-standing friction points were addressed.
"We comprehensively evaluated the topics on our agenda, particularly the defense industry and CAATSA sanctions," Yilmaz stated.
The meeting also covered global and regional developments, focusing on the "hot topics" in the Middle East.
Yilmaz noted that they exchanged views on the latest situation in Iran and Syria. Furthermore, the two officials discussed the framework of the "second phase of the Gaza peace plan," signaling ongoing diplomatic coordination regarding the conflict.
Yilmaz concluded by thanking Ambassador Barrack for his constructive contributions and the will to strengthen cooperation between the two nations.
