Türkiye brings back 12 fugitives wanted on Interpol red notices from 4 countries

Türkiye’s Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced Monday that 12 fugitives wanted on Interpol red notices were brought back to Türkiye from Georgia, Germany, Austria and France.

In a statement on X, Yerlikaya said security units, including the Interpol-Europol Department, Justice Ministry teams, Intelligence, Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime (KOM), Anti-Narcotics, Cybercrime and Public Security departments, coordinated efforts to track individuals who had fled abroad despite active arrest warrants.

Joint operations lead to arrests abroad

Yerlikaya said cooperation with police units in the relevant countries resulted in the capture and extradition of all 12 suspects.

He listed several of the individuals returned to Türkiye, including:

  • F.K., wanted for violations of Law No. 5464, unauthorized use of another person’s bank or credit card for gain, producing fake bank/credit cards, usury and fraud.
  • O.U., wanted for deprivation of liberty using force, threat or trickery, and robbery.
  • M.T., wanted for intentional killing.
  • K.K., wanted for fraud, armed threats, assault, unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition, drug possession and use, insult, threat and resisting law enforcement.
  • B.T., wanted for assault, robbery, property damage, harboring a criminal and unauthorized use of another person’s bank or credit card for gain.
  • T.L., wanted for theft, violation of residence immunity, property damage, threat and assault.
  • I.K., wanted for drug trafficking.

Yerlikaya said additional fugitives were captured abroad and extradited as well, including:

  • A.A., wanted for drug trafficking and attempting to bring prohibited items into a penal institution (caught in Germany).
  • S.D., wanted for attempted murder (caught in Germany).
  • E.Y., wanted for robbery (caught in Germany).
  • Z.S., wanted for drug trafficking (caught in Austria).
  • H.D., wanted for forgery of official documents (caught in France).

'We will capture them one by one’

Yerlikaya thanked all units involved in the operations and emphasized that Türkiye will “catch every fugitive wanted on a red notice and ensure their return.”
