Türkiye is monitoring the U.S.-initiated negotiation process on Ukraine and is ready to provide any mediation assistance needed to resolve the conflict, a Turkish diplomatic source told Russian news agency RIA Novosti on Monday.
"We are monitoring the process; there are positive statements. We are waiting for concrete results," the source said.
"We are ready to provide all mediation assistance, any help that will be necessary to resolve the conflict," the source added when asked about Ankara's mediation plans for 2026.
U.S. President Donald Trump met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida on Dec. 28.
After bilateral talks, they spoke by phone with European leaders.
Before meeting Zelenskyy, Trump said he had a "good and very productive" phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Türkiye has played a significant mediation role in the Russia-Ukraine conflict since 2022, hosting negotiations between the two sides in Istanbul in the early months of the war.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has maintained a dialogue with both Putin and Zelenskyy throughout the conflict.
