Preparations and efforts for the 31st Conference of the Parties (COP31) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, which Türkiye will host in Antalya in November, were showcased in New York during the 81st U.N. General Assembly week.
Mobile LED trucks, coordinated by the Presidency's Directorate of Communications, displayed Türkiye's COP31-focused environmental and climate vision to the public in Times Square, one of New York's iconic landmarks.
Messages about Türkiye's hosting of COP31, projected onto Times Square's giant LED screens, also drew attention.
The visuals, built around integrated designs that highlighted Türkiye's soft power through its historical and natural beauty, featured messages such as "COP31 Türkiye: The future of the world is in Türkiye," "More than 190 Parties will convene in Antalya from 9 to 20 November for our shared home, the Earth," and "Türkiye where the world unites for climate."
Alongside diplomatic engagements, Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Minister Murat Kurum attended the Times Square event in person to boost the visibility of Türkiye's COP31 hosting and promote its action agenda worldwide.
In the evening, Kurum joined an event in Times Square where ebru artist Garip Ay created COP31-themed marbling artwork.
