Türkiye's state-run railway operator TCDD raised high-speed train fares by 6.5%, lifting the standard one-way economy ticket on the Ankara-Istanbul route from ₺930 to ₺990 ($20.67).
The fare increase took effect after TCDD updated its high-speed train tariffs for the second fare hike since January 2026.

TCDD applied the updated prices to one-way economy-class tickets through its sales channels. The revised tariff also covered journeys departing from Eskisehir and Konya, as well as trips involving transfers through those cities.
Türkiye's high-speed rail network has grown substantially since services began with the Ankara-Eskisehir route in March 2009.
The network later expanded to Ankara-Konya, Eskisehir-Konya, Ankara-Istanbul, Konya-Istanbul, Konya-Karaman, Ankara-Sivas and Istanbul-Sivas services, extending high-speed rail connections from central Türkiye to the country's largest cities and several regional centers.
The government is continuing work on the Ankara-Izmir, Mersin-Adana-Osmaniye-Gaziantep, Bandirma-Bursa-Yenisehir-Osmaneli, Halkali-Kapikule and Yerkoy-Kayseri lines, while construction is also underway on the Karaman-Ulukisla and Kirikkale-Corum sections.
By the end of 2025, Türkiye had 2,032 kilometers of high-speed railway infrastructure within a total national rail network of 13,919 kilometers, while more than 12 million passengers traveled by high-speed train that year.
