Türkiye, Uzbekistan leaders to hold talks in Ankara

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay an official visit to Türkiye on Thursday at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, according to Türkiye’s Communications Directorate.

During the visit, Erdogan and Mirziyoyev will co-chair the fourth meeting of the Türkiye-Uzbekistan High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council in Ankara.

The talks are expected to focus on steps to further strengthen bilateral cooperation.

Agreements and regional issues on agenda

Several agreements aimed at reinforcing the legal and contractual framework of relations between Türkiye and Uzbekistan are expected to be signed during the visit, the statement said.

The two leaders will also exchange views on regional and international developments.

Earthquake housing project ceremony

As part of the program, a live video link ceremony will be held for the inauguration of housing units built in Türkiye’s southern province of Hatay with Uzbekistan’s support following the February 2023 earthquakes, according to the statement.
