Wedding costs in Türkiye have climbed sharply in 2026, with couples now facing a lower-end ceremony budget of about ₺260,000 ($5,634), while a mid-range city wedding can cost between ₺450,000 and ₺700,000.

Based on local media reports, publicly available market data and municipal fee schedules, a typical mid-range wedding package can reach about ₺538,000. This figure covers ceremony and organization-related expenses such as engagement, henna night, civil marriage, wedding venue, food, photography, music, bridal dress, hair and make-up, invitations, jewelry, transport, accommodation, planning, official fees and small gifts. It does not include furniture, white goods, rent deposit, or honeymoon costs.

When setting up a home is added, the cost rises far more sharply. Publicly cited 2026 market surveys put the average full marriage cost at around ₺1.8 million, with lower-income couples facing about ₺850,000, middle-segment couples around ₺2 million, and upper-segment couples roughly ₺4.3 million.

Venues, food take up biggest share

The heaviest expense in 2026 comes from venues and catering, followed by engagement and henna events, and then jewelry or wedding rings.

In a mid-range reference budget of about ₺538,000, venue and food costs make up nearly 39% of the total, while engagement and henna ceremonies account for around 23%. Jewelry and rings represent roughly 11%.

Typical 2026 price ranges show how wide the market has become. Wedding venues range from about ₺60,000 to ₺250,000, while food or cocktail service can run from ₺45,000 to ₺350,000. Engagement and henna events each range from about ₺30,000 to ₺180,000.

Other common expenses include photography and video at ₺5,000-₺35,000, music at ₺8,000-₺45,000, bridal dresses or formal wear at ₺25,000-₺120,000, and hair and make-up at ₺4,000-₺20,000.

Inflation keeps service-heavy costs high

The rise in wedding expenses follows Türkiye's broader inflation trend, especially in service-heavy items such as venues, catering, music, photography, event planning and accommodation.

Official data shows annual consumer inflation stood at 44.38% in December 2024, 30.89% in December 2025 and 32.61% in May 2026. The Services Producer Price Index also remained high, rising 49.07% in December 2024, 35.11% in December 2025 and 33.58% in February 2026.

Using current market prices and inflation-based estimates, a mid-range ceremony-focused wedding budget rose from about ₺300,600 in 2024 to ₺403,400 in 2025 and ₺538,000 in 2026. That points to nominal increases of roughly 34% from 2024 to 2025 and about 33% from 2025 to 2026.

Coastal destinations and premium districts cost more

Regional differences are driven largely by venue and catering prices. Local market listings show strong gaps between cities and districts, with Istanbul, Izmir and coastal Aegean destinations standing out as expensive markets.

Average venue indicators are listed at ₺652,500 for Istanbul, ₺575,000 for Ankara, ₺660,000 for Izmir, ₺1.53 million for Mugla, ₺1.02 million for Aydin, ₺525,000 for Antalya and ₺270,000 for Adana.

These figures do not represent the full wedding bill on their own, but they show how sharply location can shape the final budget. A typical total wedding budget is estimated at ₺500,000-₺750,000 in Istanbul, ₺430,000-₺650,000 in Ankara, ₺500,000-₺780,000 in Izmir and ₺550,000-₺1 million or more in the Aegean region.

Rural or outer districts can bring down venue costs, but larger guest lists, meal expectations and jewelry traditions can partly offset those savings.

Wedding costs financial burden for lower-income couples

The 2026 net minimum wage is ₺28,075.50, making wedding costs a major financial burden for many households.

For lower-income couples with a monthly household income of ₺45,000-₺70,000, a modest ceremony budget is estimated at ₺180,000-₺280,000. This usually means a civil marriage, a simple hall or home-garden event, digital invitations, basic photography and rented or second-hand clothing.

For middle-income couples earning ₺90,000-₺150,000 per month, the typical ceremony budget rises to ₺450,000-₺700,000, usually including a separate henna or engagement event, 150-250 guests, food or cocktails, photography and video, music and mid-range clothing.

For higher-income couples earning above ₺200,000 per month, premium venues, destination weddings, professional planners, live music and larger events can lift the budget to ₺900,000-₺1.5 million or more.

Couples cut back with weekday dates, smaller guest lists

As costs rise, local media reports and sector data show that couples are turning to weekday weddings, fewer guests, digital invitations, rental or second-hand bridal wear, and package services.

Guest count remains one of the strongest cost drivers because many venues charge food and service on a per-person basis. Cutting 50 guests can save around ₺25,000-₺75,000 in standard urban price bands, and more in coastal or destination markets.

Digital invitations can also reduce costs, as printed invitation prices range from about ₺500 to ₺4,600. Bridal rental or second-hand options have become more attractive as new bridal dress prices can reach much higher levels in 2026.

Official marriage costs also vary by municipality. The 2026 international family certificate fee is ₺1,202. In Kadikoy, the civil marriage hall fees range from ₺6,302 to ₺17,502, while an outside marriage service costs ₺25,502. In Cankaya, ceremony fees range from ₺4,602 for a room marriage to ₺16,602 for a higher-cost hall or on-site services. In Konak, hall-free ceremonies range from ₺1,400 to ₺2,700, while hall ceremonies range from ₺3,400 to ₺9,000.

There is no single national wedding fee in Türkiye. Costs depend on the city, municipality, venue, day, guest count, ceremony format and whether the couple is also setting up a home.
