Türkiye's main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) announced that its 22nd Extraordinary Congress will be held on Sunday, Sept. 21, at 10 a.m. (GMT +3) at the Nazim Hikmet Cultural Center in Yenimahalle, Ankara.
The party stated that the congress is being organized to ensure full participation of delegates and to address internal procedural matters following previous disputes. CHP emphasized that all party members and delegates will have the opportunity to engage in democratic decision-making.
CHP highlighted that the Ankara Provincial Election Board has rejected the request to cancel the congress, confirming that the event will proceed as scheduled. The party also noted that the congress aims to strengthen internal democracy and provide a platform for open discussion among delegates.
CHP concluded by encouraging all members to participate responsibly and contribute to the future direction of the party, reaffirming its commitment to transparency and democratic processes.
