Türkiye’s Directorate of Communications Center for Combating Disinformation (DMM) denied claims circulating on some social media accounts that U.S. President Donald Trump "ordered Türkiye to attack Iran."
In a statement shared on its NSosyal account, the center said allegations claiming that “Trump ordered Türkiye to attack Iran,” that Türkiye is part of a secret military plan against Iran, or that Türkiye demanded the removal of CAATSA sanctions to join a war against Iran are not true.
The DMM said Türkiye determines and implements its foreign policy and security decisions independently.
“Türkiye, as an independent and sovereign state, determines and implements its foreign policy and security decisions solely by itself,” the statement said.
It added that claims suggesting otherwise are baseless and made with ill intent.
The center also said there is no situation in which Türkiye would enter a war against Iran or present conditions such as the removal of CAATSA sanctions for that purpose.
The statement urged the public not to rely on such content, describing it as an attempt to manipulate public opinion.
