Bahrain arrested 41 members of a group allegedly connected to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the Interior Ministry announced on Saturday.
The ministry stated that the arrests followed security investigations and prosecutions related to espionage and foreign interference cases.
Authorities noted that legal action against the detainees was ongoing while search operations continued against others suspected of involvement in activities violating the law.
Officials did not disclose the identities of those detained or provide further details about the alleged network.
Bahraini authorities had previously announced arrests of individuals they claimed were linked to the IRGC since the start of the Iran conflict.
The latest operation came amid heightened tensions in Bahrain since the outbreak of the regional war, during which pro-Iranian groups in the country claimed to have intensified activities targeting the government, particularly during the early weeks of the conflict.
In early March, Bahraini authorities banned public gatherings, citing security concerns after street clashes between opposition groups and security forces.
Most recently, Bahrain's parliament expelled three lawmakers for opposing a royal decree removing judicial oversight over citizenship cases, as authorities revoked dozens of citizenships and detained over 200 people over protests and online posts.
