The Israeli army said Sunday evening it had detected missile launches from Iran toward Israeli territory, as the ongoing conflict between the two countries escalated further.

“A short while ago, missile launches from Iran toward Israeli territory were detected,” the military said in a statement, adding that air defense systems were activated to intercept the missiles.

"Homefront Command Search and Rescue teams have been dispatched to several hit sites in Israel, following the latest barrage from Iran," the Israeli military said in a statement shortly after telling the public they could leave protected shelters.

Israeli media also reported two injuries and fires erupting in southern Israel following Iranian strikes.

At least 128 killed in Israeli strikes

Israel launched coordinated strikes on multiple sites across Iran—targeting military and nuclear facilities—on Friday (June 13), prompting Iran to respond with retaliatory missile attacks. The exchanges have continued without pause since the initial attacks.

Iran’s Health Ministry said Sunday that 128 people have been killed and 900 others injured since Israel’s assault began.

Israeli officials, meanwhile, reported 13 people killed and more than 370 others injured in Iranian missile strikes.
