Greece’s Defense Minister Nikos Dendias has put forward recommendations to the Parliamentary Armaments Committee, proposing the acquisition of 20 F-35 fighter jets and the assessment of potential involvement in the Constellation-class frigate construction initiative, as reported by Greece’s state agency AMNA.

Dendias argued that acquiring F-35 military aircraft would enhance the country’s deterrent capabilities.

Dendias also stated that if a decision is made to participate in the program to construct Constellation-class frigates in Greece, these frigates would become a significant asset for the Hellenic Navy.

The Committee approved Dendias’ proposal concerning the F-35s and Constellation-class frigates by a majority vote.
