IAEA monitoring Middle East, urges restraint

The International Atomic Energy Agency said it is closely monitoring developments in the Middle East and called for restraint to avoid any nuclear safety risks to people in the region.

In a statement shared on social media, the agency said it remains in permanent contact with countries in the region.

No radiological impact detected

The IAEA said that, so far, there is no evidence of any radiological impact linked to the current situation.

It emphasized that it continues to assess developments and maintain communication with relevant authorities.

The agency said it will keep monitoring the situation and provide updates as necessary.

The statement underlined the importance of restraint to prevent any potential nuclear safety risks to populations in the region.
