Iran transmitted a draft proposal to the United States through Pakistani mediators Thursday night, Iran Nuances reported on Friday.

Axios correspondent Barak David separately confirmed that Tehran had delivered its response to the latest U.S. amendments on a war-ending agreement via the Pakistani channel.

Iranian state media also confirmed, saying, "The Islamic Republic of Iran has handed over the text of its latest negotiation plan to Pakistan on Thursday evening, May 10, as a mediator in negotiations with the United States," the official IRNA news agency reported, without elaborating.

Iran and the United States held a single round of talks against the backdrop of a fragile ceasefire following nearly 40 days of war that broke out on February 28.

Talks have since stalled as the United States imposed a naval blockade on Iranian ports, while Iran has kept the key Strait of Hormuz largely closed, allowing only a trickle of ships through the waterway since the start of the war.

On Friday, Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held phone calls with counterparts from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Türkiye, Iraq, and Azerbaijan on the latest "initiatives of the Islamic Republic to end the war," according to a ministry statement.
