Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it launched a new wave of missile strikes Monday as part of what it calls “Operation True Promise 4,” targeting sites in Israel and warning civilians to avoid military and government facilities.
IRGC said the 10th wave of the operation involved the use of the Kheibar Shekan hypersonic missile, describing the strikes as having "opened huge doors of fire to the occupied territories." Iranian state media carried the statement on Monday.
The Kheibar Shekan missile, with a 1450-kilometer range, is a third-generation solid-fuel missile.
According to the IRGC, the latest round of attacks targeted the Israeli government campus in Tel Aviv, as well as military and security centers in Haifa and areas in East Jerusalem.
The statement did not provide details on damage or casualties.
The IRGC warned residents of “occupied territories” to “stay away from the vicinity of military bases, security and government centers” and urged them to “leave the occupied territories immediately.”
It also reiterated an earlier warning that air raid sirens in Israel “would never stop,” signaling the possibility of continued strikes.
The Kheibar hypersonic missile, unveiled by Iran as part of its ballistic missile program, has been described by Iranian officials as capable of high-speed maneuvering designed to evade missile defense systems.
The latest announcement comes amid intense missile and airstrikes between Iran, Israel, and U.S. bases over the past 48 hours.
Air raid sirens were reported in several Israeli cities, and Israeli authorities said missile interception systems were activated in response to incoming projectiles.
The joint U.S.-Israeli military campaign launched on Saturday has killed several senior Iranian officials, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
Tehran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Gulf countries. Three U.S. service members have been killed and five others seriously wounded.
