Iran has launched missiles and drones toward what it described as "enemy positions," according to Iranian media citing field observations, as tensions between Tehran and Washington sharpened once again on Monday.
The report, which has not been independently verified, did not specify the targets or scale of the strikes. It comes amid what Iranian outlets characterized as renewed escalation between Iran and the United States.
The U.S. Embassy in Qatar issued a security alert on the social media platform X, warning Americans that the security environment in the region "remains complex with the potential for unforeseen escalation."
The embassy urged U.S. citizens currently in the Middle East to exercise heightened vigilance and said they should be prepared for possible flight cancellations, airspace closures and other travel disruptions.
The U.S. government's official travel information account, TravelGov, echoed the embassy's message in a wider advisory covering the Middle East. The post repeated the warning about a volatile security environment and advised Americans traveling to or from the region to closely monitor airport and airline operations.
The advisory went further, cautioning that Iran and groups supportive of Iran may target U.S. interests overseas or at locations associated with the United States and Americans throughout the world, including U.S. businesses and other institutions.
