The head of Iran’s Legal Medicine Organization said Sunday that 3,375 people killed in U.S.-Israeli airstrikes have been identified through scientific and specialized forensic methods, according to state broadcaster IRIB.

Abbas Masjedi Arani said the fatalities recorded between Feb. 28 and April 7 included 2,875 men and 496 women. He did not provide details regarding the remaining four individuals.

He added that some foreign nationals were among the dead, including citizens of Afghanistan, Syria, Pakistan, China, Iraq, and Lebanon, though he did not specify how many.

Masjedi said the identification process was conducted using advanced forensic procedures by the state-affiliated Legal Medicine Organization.

War toll rises as ceasefire remains fragile

The United States and Israel launched a joint offensive on Iran on Feb. 28, killing dozens of senior military officials, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, before a two-week ceasefire was brokered by Pakistan earlier this week.

Tehran retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, as well as Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting U.S. military assets.

Iran also restricted ship movements through the Strait of Hormuz, a critical route for global oil and gas shipments.

The United States and Iran held talks in Islamabad on Saturday aimed at ending the conflict, but the negotiations concluded without an agreement.
