An Iranian drone targeted an airport in the Nakhchivan exclave of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijani authorities announced that two people were injured following the incident.

Following the initial report, the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan announced that another Iranian Shahed drone was spotted near a school building.

The ministry emphasized Azerbaijan's right to respond following two drone strikes in Azerbaijan's territory. According to the ministry's statement, both incidents took place at about 12:00 (08:00 GMT) local time.

The ministry demanded “a clear explanation” from Iran and said the country “reserves the right to take appropriate response measures”.

It has summoned Iranian Ambassador Mojtaba Demirchilou over the incident.

A separate missile fell in Türkiye a day earlier, adding to concerns about widening regional instability involving Iran.
