Israel carried out a series of airstrikes in Yemen late Monday, a day after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed retaliation for a missile launched by Yemeni Houthis that landed near Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport, an Israeli official said.

Citing an unnamed Israeli official, Israel’s Channel 12 reported that “Israel is now conducting an attack in Yemen,” with about 30 Israeli warplanes targeting the western port city of Al Hudaydah..

According to the report, the Israeli Air Force launched 48 strikes across Yemen, including what officials described as a “massive blow” to Al Hudaydah’s port. Dozens of Israeli aircraft were said to have bombed targets in both the Al Hudaydah port area and the Bajil District in the Al Hudaydah Governorate.

The strikes reportedly hit more than 10 locations, with a primary focus on the strategic Red Sea port of Al Hudaydah.

Houthis say 'US-Israeli raids'

Al-Masirah TV, a Houthi-run broadcaster, confirmed the attacks, reporting that six “U.S.-Israeli raids” targeted Al Hudaydah’s port, and that another strike hit the Bajil District. The broadcaster did not provide details on casualties or the extent of the damage.

Israeli authorities have not issued any further statements on the operation. The United States has not commented on the strikes.
