At least 22 Palestinians were killed early Saturday morning, the second day of Eid al-Adha, in a series of Israeli airstrikes and gunfire incidents across the Gaza Strip, according to Palestinian sources.

Twelve people, including four members of the same family, were killed and more than 40 others were wounded when Israeli shelling targeted tents sheltering displaced civilians west of Khan Younis in southern Gaza.

In a separate incident, seven more Palestinians were killed in an Israeli airstrike that hit a home sheltering displaced people west of Gaza City.

Meanwhile, five Palestinians were reportedly shot dead by Israeli forces near an aid distribution center west of Rafah. Several others were injured in the same incident.

Since May 27, at least 115 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli gunfire while attempting to access humanitarian aid, with more than 580 wounded and nine still unaccounted for, according to a tally by Anadolu based on Palestinian sources.

Fourth Eid under fire in Gaza

On Friday, the first day of Eid al-Adha, 33 Palestinians were killed in Israeli strikes and shelling across multiple areas of Gaza.

This marks the fourth consecutive Eid celebrated under the shadow of war in Gaza. Since Israel launched its military offensive, nearly 54,700 Palestinians have been killed, according to Gaza health officials.

The conflict has also created famine conditions and rendered large parts of the enclave uninhabitable.
