Smoke was seen rising from the oil refinery complex in the northern Israeli city of Haifa following retaliation by Iran and Hezbollah, according to reports on social media and Israeli media.
Footage shared on social media showed smoke rising from the refinery complex, though the extent of the damage was not immediately clear. It remained unclear whether the refinery was directly hit by a missile or struck by shrapnel from an interception.
In a report by Yedioth Ahronot newspaper, sirens sounded in northern Israel, particularly in Haifa, as well as in the Galilee and Tiberias regions, following the retaliation.
Meanwhile, Israeli Channel 12 television reported that rocket and missile fragments fired from Iran and Lebanon fell on at least 10 locations in Haifa as well as in the northern settlements of Kiryat Shmona and Binyamina.
There was no immediate statement from Israel or Iran regarding the incident.
The Israeli army said that search and rescue forces were on their way to the site in northern Israel, where reports of an impact have been received.
Earlier, Israel issued an early warning in the northern part of the country after a missile launch was detected from Iran.
Sirens sounded in central and northern Israel on Sunday after missile barrages from Iran and Lebanon, as the escalation continued to spread across the region.
The Israel Hayom daily said missiles were detected from Iran, triggering alarms in Jerusalem and several areas across central Israel.
A military statement said missiles were intercepted by air defenses in central Israel, without giving further details.
The barrage was the seventh wave of missiles fired by Iran toward Israel since midnight.
Sirens also sounded across northern Israel, including Haifa, Acre and Krayot, after a rocket barrage from Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.
Israeli media said some of the rockets were intercepted, while others landed in open areas.
Israel and the United States have launched a joint offensive on Iran since Feb. 28, killing over 1,340 people so far, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
Tehran retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Iraq, Jordan, and Gulf countries hosting U.S. military assets.
Israel has also pounded Lebanon with airstrikes and launched a ground offensive in the south since a cross-border attack by Hezbollah on March 2.
Lebanese authorities said 1,142 people have since been killed and 3,315 others wounded in the Israeli assault.
