Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned that Israel’s military offensive against Iran is “not done yet,” saying the campaign is weakening Iran’s clerical leadership.
Speaking during a visit to the National Health Command Center on Monday night, Netanyahu said Israel’s actions were aimed at undermining Iran’s ruling establishment.
“Our aspiration is to bring the Iranian people to cast off the yoke of tyranny; ultimately, it depends on them. But there is no doubt that with the actions taken so far, we are breaking their bones, and we are not done yet,” Netanyahu said, according to a statement published Tuesday.
Netanyahu also claimed Israel’s actions had changed the country’s international position, arguing that defensive measures were more important than attacks against Iran.
He said defense reflects the will of the people and claimed that public confidence in Israel remains high.
Israel and the United States launched a military attack on Iran on Feb. 28 while negotiations between the Tehran and Washington administrations were ongoing.
Iran responded with attacks on selected targets in several regional countries, primarily Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain, where U.S. military bases are located, as well as Israel.
According to Iranian officials, many senior figures were killed in the U.S.-Israeli attacks, including Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
Iranian authorities say the death toll from the strikes has risen to 1,332 people.
