President Erdogan began his three-day Gulf tour on Tuesday with an official visit to Kuwait, the first stop of a trip that will also include Qatar and Oman.
Erdogan’s visit aims to strengthen bilateral relations between Türkiye and Gulf nations and address key regional developments.
Upon arrival in Kuwait, Erdogan was welcomed with an official ceremony by the Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. Following the ceremony, the two leaders held one-on-one and delegation-level talks to discuss cooperation and regional matters.
Erdogan’s second stop will be in Qatar, where he is scheduled to meet Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in Doha on Wednesday.
Talks will cover bilateral ties as well as regional developments, with the Gaza ceasefire process and the reconstruction of the region expected to top the agenda.
On Thursday, Erdogan will travel to Oman for talks with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq in the capital, Muscat. Discussions will address economic cooperation and regional affairs.
Throughout the Gulf tour, Türkiye aims to deepen cooperation with Kuwait, Qatar, and Oman in defense, energy and investment sectors. Several bilateral agreements are expected to be signed to advance economic and strategic collaboration.
