The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) has donated 400-liter pesticide spraying machines to 200 farmers in Mamusa, the only Turkish-majority municipality in Kosovo.
A distribution ceremony was held in front of the Mamusa Municipality building.
Attendees included Türkiye’s Ambassador to Pristina, Sabri Tunc Angili; the Chairman of the Turkish Democratic Party of Kosovo (KDTP) and Minister of Regional Development, Fikrim Damka; and others.
In his speech, Ambassador Angili highlighted that farmers in Mamusa produce four times more than the average consumption in Kosovo, and he personally uses their products.
He noted that Mamusa’s agricultural products are exported to European countries and expressed hope that the town will continue to grow economically.
Angili emphasized Türkiye’s ongoing support by saying, “As the Republic of Türkiye, we will continue to stand by Mamusa and its people in the coming period. We are proud of you and value you greatly.”
TIKA’s Kosovo Coordinator, Fulya Aslan, stated that the project aims to reduce manual labor, accelerate agricultural activities, and increase productivity.
“I hope you will continue your production here. As people with whom Türkiye shares a deep bond, we will keep working side by side with the people of Mamusa to support local production,” she added.
Damka emphasized in his remarks that since 2004, TIKA has carried out many significant projects in Kosovo, ranging from education and healthcare to agriculture and infrastructure.
Mamusa Mayor Abdulhadi Krasnic and the local farmers who received the equipment expressed their gratitude to Türkiye and TIKA.
Following the speeches, as part of the project titled “Supporting Agricultural Mechanization for Mamusa Municipality Farmers,” 400-liter pesticide sprayers were distributed to 200 farmers by TIKA.
