The Syrian army stopped an infiltration attempt by two SDF terrorist organizations' groups in eastern Aleppo near Tel Maaz at around 2:35 a.m. on Aug. 12.
The groups advancing toward army positions were repelled with gunfire, resulting in the death of one soldier.
The Syrian Defense Ministry reported that the SDF, mainly composed of terrorist organization PKK/YPG elements, targeted army positions in Menbic and Deyr Hafir, blocked some roads around Aleppo, and violated agreements with the government.
The ministry warned that continued provocations will have consequences.
Tensions are rapidly escalating in the Aleppo region.
Meanwhile, a critical meeting took place in Amman between the foreign ministers of Jordan and Syria, along with the U.S. Special Envoy Tom Barrack, to discuss the Syria dossier.
