U.S. President Donald Trump re-shared an article on Truth Social on Sunday, suggesting a naval blockade of Iran as his next potential move.
The post came hours after Vice President JD Vance announced the Islamabad Talks had ended without a deal, as Trump himself attended UFC 327 in Miami while the negotiations concluded on the other side of the world.
Trump posted a link on Truth Social at 6:16 a.m. on April 12 to an article titled "The Trump card the president holds if Iran won't bend: a naval blockade," published by Just the News.
The article drew a comparison to the strategy Trump's administration employed against Venezuela, where Washington deployed a large naval force in the Caribbean, struck boats it said were used for drug trafficking, seized tankers, and ultimately captured then-President Nicolas Maduro.
Trump offered no additional commentary beyond sharing the link.
The post came hours after Vance said the U.S. was leaving Islamabad without an agreement and that Iran had "chosen not to accept our terms."
Trump arrived at UFC 327 in Miami, Florida, where he was greeted by UFC President Dana White before entering the arena.
He was accompanied by members of his family.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio and U.S. Ambassador to India Sergio Gor were among those in attendance.
Trump remained in the arena as the Islamabad Talks concluded without a breakthrough, with Vance announcing the failure of 21 hours of negotiations.
Trump had said Saturday that whether a deal was reached "makes no difference to me, because we've won."
