The 12th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) Heads of State will be held on Oct. 7 in the Azerbaijani city of Gabala, the bloc announced Monday.

The summit, to be held under the theme “Regional Peace and Security,” will bring together leaders and high-level delegations of OTS member countries and observer states, according to an OTS statement.

Strengthening cooperation across Turkic world

Participants are expected to discuss regional and global developments and sign documents aimed at strengthening cooperation across the Turkic world while enhancing peace and prosperity.

Ahead of the leaders’ summit, OTS foreign ministers will also convene, the statement said.

The gathering in Gabala—one of Azerbaijan’s historic cities—is expected to reflect the shared vision of the Turkic states while reinforcing friendship, brotherhood and solidarity among them.

The 11th OTS summit was held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, in November 2024.

More recently, on Sept. 18, the organization convened its first-ever meeting of prime ministers and vice presidents in Bishkek.

That session at the Presidential Palace brought together Kyrgyzstan’s Prime Minister Adilbek Kasymaliyev, Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz, Kazakh Prime Minister Olcas Bektenov, Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov, Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov and OIC Secretary General Kubanichbek Omuraliev.

The Organization of Turkic States includes Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye and Uzbekistan as member states.

Hungary, Turkmenistan and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus participate as observers.
