Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan spoke by phone Friday with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to discuss the latest stage of ongoing negotiations between Iran and the U.S., Turkish Foreign Ministry sources said.

The two ministers reviewed the current point reached in the talks between Tehran and Washington, according to the sources.

No further details were provided on the content of the phone call.

Iran continues review of US proposal

The phone call came as Iran said it was still reviewing a U.S. proposal aimed at ending the conflict.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei told the semi-official Tasnim news agency Friday that Tehran was continuing its assessment of the proposal.

Baghaei said Iran would announce its final position after the review process was completed.

The talks between Iran and the U.S. remain under review by Tehran, while Türkiye’s foreign minister discussed the status of the negotiations with his Iranian counterpart.
